1)Chi Sei, cosa fai e perche' la tua vita e' correlata al Subbuteo ?

Ciao, mi chiamo Sandro Ceppi, sono impegnato nel ramo dell'artigianato da sempre e nel tempo libero sono il responsabile della squadra Triestina Subbuteo; da bambino ho scoperto il Subbuteo grazie a mio zio Egidio...c'era questo panno verde contornato di transenne e con due porte da calcio attaccate dietro l'armadio della camera da letto di casa sua (poi ho scoperto che era di mio cugino più grande) e per me era un tesoro nascosto, finchè una domenica pomeriggio, durante una visita, decise di farmelo trovare sul tavolo del soggiorno...schierate in campo c'erano Juventus e Torino pronte a contendersi il derby della Mole...rimasi a bocca aperta e con gli occhi che brillavano. Da quel giorno è stato amore, ho giocato tantissimo con mio cugino e con gli amici, un trilione di tornei e tantissimo divertimento. Poi col crescere sono entrate nella mia vita altre cose, ma nonostante i panni e le squadre erano finiti nel baule in soffitta, la passione è rimasta ed ora sto giocando a livello agonistico a calcio tavolo.

1)Who are you, what do you do, where are you from and how's your life related to Subbuteo? 

Hello! My name's Sandro Ceppi. I am an artisan since ever and I am the manager of the Triestina Subbuteo team in my spare time. I discovered Subbuteo thanks to my uncle Egidio when I was a kid. There was a green pitch surrounded by fence and 2 goals right behind the armchair of his bedroom. ( I then found out it belonged to my older cousin). To me it was an hidden treasure until the day he decided to took it out from there and make me find it in the living room. Two teams were already on the pitch: Juventus and Torino ready to battle for the Derby della Mole! I was speechless and I was standing there with open mouth and my eyes were shining. Since that day it was Love. I played a lot of matches and tournaments with my cousin and friends and we enjoyed it so much! Growing up life brought in so many things and even if the Subbuteo equipment finished in the attic still the passion has always been there and now I am playing  table soccer (CDT) professional.

2) Qual e' il tuo primo ricordo del Subbuteo ? (La tua prima volta) 

Sicuramente il campo dietro l'armadio...

2)What's your first memory about Subbuteo ? (your first time)

Definitely the pitch behind the armchair.

3) Quando avete/hai fondato il vostro club ? 

Io non ho fondato il club in cui gioco ora, la squadra fà parte della ASD CRAL TRIESTE TRASPORTI ed io sono il capo sezione. La squadra è stata fondata dal presidente Guido Giorio nel 2017 e da quest'anno (stagione 2018/2019) abbiamo cominciato a seguire il circuito Federale F.I.S.C.T., diciamo che questo è l'anno zero.

3)When did you found your club? 

I didn't found the club where I play now. The team is part of the ASD CRAL TRIESTE TRASPORTI and I am in charge of it. The team was founded by the president Guido Giorio in 2017 and we started to be involved in the FISCT starting from this year (season 2018-2019).Let's say this is the year zero.

4) Hai mai partecipato ad eventi Subbuteo ? Se si quali ? Hai mai vinto qualche competizione di Subbuteo ? se SI Quale ? 

Ho partecipato a tornei Interregionali e Nazionali a partire dal 2015 quando giocavo con il DLF Gorizia e partecipo tutt'ora con la mia squadra. A livello agonistico non sono mai riuscito a vincere ma mi sono tolto delle soddisfazioni personali...miglior piazzamento una semifinale di un torneo Interregionale a Trento.

4) Did you ever take part in Subbuteo Events? If YES which ones? Did you ever win any prize? If YES which ones?

I played National and Inter-Regional tournaments since 2015 when I was playing with the team DLF Goriziaa and I still take part in them with my team. I still didn't win anything at a professional level but I got a lot of personal satisfactions! Best placement I did was a Semi-Final in an Inter-Regional Tournament in Trento.

5) Sei anche un collezionista oltre che un giocatore ?

No, però ci ho pensato parecchie volte di cominciare...

5)Do you also collect Subbuteo or you are just a player?

No but I thought many times about it..

6) Qual e' la tua squadra preferita ?Qual e' secondo te la squadra piu' rara ? 

La Triestina sicuramente!!! La squadra della mia città è quella del cuore, tutto il resto è solo spettacolo... Non saprei dire qual'è la più rara, ma azzarderei sulle squadre americane (NASL)

6)What's your favourite team? Which one is the rarest ?

Definitely Triestina!! My hometown team and my favourite one. The rest it's all entertainment. I wouldn't know about the rarest team but I would guess the American ones (NASL)

7)Aspetti positivi e negativi dell'Universo Subbuteo?

Di positivo ci sono tante cose, per cominciare la socializzazione che si crea attorno ai tavoli che al giorno d'oggi la trovi con la lente d'ingrandimento in quanto si preferiscono i tablet ed i cellulari, poi il divertimento, la tattica e tanti altri, di negativo ci sono i fanatici che pur di vincere ti passano il pollice sudato sotto la base!

7)Positive and negative aspects of the Subbuteo Universe?

There are several positive things starting from the social side of it that it takes form around the tables, which something rare to find anywhere else nowadays because of the technologies' addiction. Also the fun,the tactics and much more. Negative things are the fanatics people who would pass their sweat thumb under the base in order to win.

8) Cosa ne pensate dei vari circuiti ed associazioni come FISCT,WASPA e Lega Nazionale Subbuteo? 

La squadra in cui gioco è affiliata F.I.S.C.T., credo sia nel panorama del Calcio da tavolo il meglio che c'è; la W.A.S.P.A. è molto dispersiva, chiunque può partecipare mandando risultati e foto, il furbone di turno può scalare il ranking scrivendo risultati a caso e facendo foto con gli amici vicino ai tavoli di subbuteo, non mi piace molto come filosofia; per quel che riguarda la Lega Nazionale Subbuteo non saprei, giocando al calcio da tavolo non conosco e non posso giudicare.

8)What do you think about FISCT,WASPA and Lega Nazionale Subbuteo circuits?

The team I play for is linked to FISCT and I think it's the best Table Soccer world. WASPA is very chaotic, anyone can take part in it sending the results and pictures to them. The smart one could even probably create fake matches and pictures with friends around a Subbuteo table. I don't like much their philosophy. Regarding the Lega Nazionale Subbuteo I really don't know. I play Table Soccer and I don't know much about it so I can't have an opinion about.

Cosa ne pensi del futuro di questo meraviglioso gioco?

In cuor mio spero vivamente che il Subbuteo/Calcio da tavolo non venga mai dimenticato dai ragazzini di oggi, stiamo parlando della più fedele riproduzione di una partita di calcio in miniatura. Io assieme a tutto l'organico della mia squadra stiamo promuovendo il gioco appunto in mezzo ai giovani, proprio per farlo conoscere a loro che dovranno essere un mezzo per trasportare questa conoscenza alle generazioni future e poi...vuoi mettere guardare due bambini che giocano insieme a Subbuteo?

What do you think about the future of this fantastic game?

I hope with all my heart that Subbuteo/TableSoccer will never be forgotten by the nowadays kids. We are talking about the closest game to a real soccer match in miniature. Me and my team we are all promoting Subbuteo amongst the youngster in order to make them knowing it since they are the ones that will have to hand it down to the future generationsa and also....how amazing is to see two kids playing Subbuteo?
