Italy wins but doesn't convince at all !

Luckily Italy managed to win 1-0 against Israel and despite they had a large 70% of ball possession but still they really risked a lot to get a goal in at least 3 very dangerous occasions. The first half was absolutely a disaster and the Ventura's players have been saved by Buffon that also didn't look that sharp. Italians were very static and looked like couldn't create much and didn't even managed to score one goal. Israel was playing definitely with a very defensive team but were always ready to start counter attacks when possible. Looks like there is a lack of passion and ideas in the team so WE hope Italy will still make it to the next World Cup in Russia. Italy will just need one point in the next two matches against Macedonia and Albania in order to get the play off so it's practically sure they will but who knows who they will face! There are so many very strong teams that will participate so it's gonna be a hardship to succeed.
Focusing on the match against Israel the match winner was Ciro Immobile that put in the ball with a header thanks to a great cross by Candreva at 53'. WE must say that Candreva played a very nice match or at least he put in the area many very dangerous crosses. Belotti had at least 3 good occasions but he didn't score and this is a very bad news for Italy because the team really needs his goals. We must say that the goalkeeper Harush did some very great saves too so it's not all Il Gallo's fault but WE definitely expect much more from him. Insigne played another mediocre performance but the problem is always there. Ventura keeps pushing him in a position that is not always his preferred one so this put the player out of his natural habitat. Zappacosta replaced Conti on the wing and things went much better as well. WE do hope that Ventura will leave this 4-2-4 tactic idea because it's not really working much or at least WE hope not to use this tactic against strong teams like Spain otherwise We all know how it will finish. Very nice first half by Israel anyway. Lot's of hope for the future of this nation!
