1)Who are you, what do you do, where are you from and how's your life related to Subbuteo?
Hello, my name is Victoria Büsing and I am 23 years old. I live near Dortmund and study social work. I started playing Subbuteo when I was 5 years old. My father and my brother were already regularly taking part at tournaments, later I became part of the Subbuteo family, too. Last year, I founded a Subbuteo department at our local sports club “TV Germania Kaiserau 1876” trying to make Subbuteo more popular.
1)Chi Sei, cosa fai e perche' la tua vita e' correlata al Subbuteo?
Ciao! Mi chiamo Victoria Busing ed ho 23 anni. Vivo vicino Dortmund e studio Servizi Sociali. Ho iniziato a giocare al Subbuteo all'eta' di 5 anni! Mio padre e mio fratello erano gia' giocatori presenti regolarmente a tornei e cosi' diventai anche io parte della Famiglia Subbuteo. L'anno scorso ho fondato un dipartimento Subbuteo nel nostro club sportivo locale "TV GERMANIA KAISERAU 1876" cercando di rendere piu' popolare il nostro amato gioco.
2)What's your first memory about Subbuteo ? (your first time)
The first event I remember was a tournament in Birmingham in 2002. That was my first World Cup and I played against Delphine Dieudonné. I remember that she always tried to shoot goals by hopping the figures. Since I was still too small, I had to stand on my Subbuteo suitcase to reach the figures in the middle of the table.
2)Qual'e' il tuo primo ricordo del Subbuteo ? (La tua prima volta)
Il primo evento che ricordo fu il torneo a Birmingham nel 2002. Fu la mia prima Coppa del Mondo e giocai contro Delphine Dieudonne'. Mi ricordo che voleva sempre segnare facendo saltare gli omini. Visto che ero piccina dovevo salire sul mio Subbuteo box per raggiungere le figure al centro del tavolo!

3)What's the thing that mostly attracts you about Subbuteo?
To be honest, this is a difficult question because Subbuteo has been in my life since I was little. I grew up with it. Therefore, I think it's great to see all my friends again and talk to them. You are part of a big Subbuteo family that you don't want to miss. Also, Subbuteo has taught me a lot: never give up and keep fighting, but also that it is okay to lose some matches. In fact, it even was an incentive to improve and play better the next game. You also learn a lot about teamwork. All these points helped me to improve myself in my private life.
3)Qual'e' la cosa che piu' ti attrae riguardo il Subbuteo?
Onestamente questa e' una domanda molto difficile perche' il Subbuteo e' stato parte della mia vita fin da piccola. Ci sono cresciuta! Dunque penso sia fantastico vedere tutti i miei amici di nuovo ed interagire con loro. Sei parte di una grande Famiglia Subbuteo e non vuoi perderla! Ho anche imparato
4)Did you ever take part in Subbuteo events ? If Yes which one ?
I have already participated in many tournaments and have travelled through many countries. My first tournament was the World Championship 2002 in Birmingham. Since then I have played in every World Championship, apart from 2011. Besides International Open's and Satellites I participate regularly in Majors.
4)Hai mai partecipato ad eventi Subbuteo? Se Si quali?
Ho gia' partecipato a molti tornei e viaggiato per molte nazioni. Il mio primo torneo fu la Coppa del Mondo a Birmingham nel 2002. Da allora ho giocato tutte le seguenti edizioni eccetto quella del 2011. Ho inoltre partecipato ad Internationl Opens, Satelliti e partecipo regolarmente a Majors!
5)Are you also a Subbuteo Collector or you are mainly a player?
I'm not a Subbuteo collector, just a player. I know that there is a big market behind it and admire these people who have such a passion for Subbuteo.
5)Sei anche una collezionista di Subbuteo o sei principalmente una giocatrice?
Non sono una collezionista, sono una giocatrice. So che c'e' una grande mercato dietro ed ammiro queste persone che hanno una cosi' grande passione per il Subbuteo.
6)What's your favourite team ?Are you part of a Subbuteo Club?
My favourite soccer club is Borussia Dortmund, but I am currently playing with Manchester United figures (Extreme Works, 1st generation). The funny part of it is that Björn Kegenbein was the first owner of the figures. He got these figures as a present for winning the World Cup in 2008.
Since September 2017 I have been leading the Subbuteo department of TV Germania Kaiserau 1876 together with Marcel Schulz. This year we became German runner-up in the team category and qualified for the Europa League. With our team bus we will drive to Saint Vincent and try to play good games.

6)Qual'e' la tua squadra preferita ?
La mia squadra di calcio preferita e' il Borussia Dortmund ma al momento gioco usando la squadra Manchester United (Extreme Works,Prima generazione). La cosa divertente e' che il primo proprietario di questa squadra era Bjorn Kegenbein che le ebbe in regalo vincendo il Mondiale nel 2010.
Dal Settemebre 2017 sono a capo del dipartimento Subbuteo di Tv Germania Kaiserau 1876 insieme a Marcel Schulz. Questo anno siamo arrivati secondi nella categoria a squadre qualificandoci per l'Europa League. Viaggeremo per Saint Vincent con il pullman della squadra e cercheremo di giocare buone partite.

7)What would you say to encourage more women to take part in this incredible game?
It's very difficult to get women interested in Subbuteo. If someone is interested in football, it is easier because the basic knowledge is there.
7)Cosa vorresti dire per incoraggiare le donne ad avvicinarsi al Subbuteo?
E' molto difficile attrarre donne al Subbuteo. E' piu' facile se sono gia' interessato al Calcio visto che le conoscenza di base sono gia' li'.
8)Who was your toughest opponent in your Subbuteo Player career? Do you remember her/his name and in which occasion?
Right now, there are many Subbuteo players who play at pretty much the same level, so every game is a tough one. Audrey Herbaut, Emilie Despretz , Paola Forlani and Carolina Villarigues are all very well known names among the ladies. But my toughest opponent, I think for many others too, is Delphine Dieudonné. She won 13 times the world championship in the women's category and has been a role model for me since I was younger. 2016 was the World Championship in Frameries (Belgium), where I met her in the quarter finals. Before the match, I was super excited because I lost my last match against her, I think, 3:0 or 4:0. But on that day, I was very focused and won 1:0 against her. This tournament was my best tournament so far, because I became runner-up of the world championship. Unfortunately, all my energy was gone in the final, because I had very hard games before.
8)Chi e' stato il tuo avversario piu' duro nella tua carriera Subbuteo? Ti ricordi il suo nome ed in che occasione?
Ci sono tanti giocatori di Subbuteo di livello al momento dunque ogni partita e' dura. Audrey Herbaut, Emilie Despretz, Paola Forlani e Carolina Villarigues sono tutti nomi molto conosciuti tra le donne ma la mia avversaria piu' dura (e credo anche per molte altre giocatrici) e' Delphine Dieudonne'.Lei ha vinto per 13 volte il Mondiale Donne ed e' stata un modello da seguire per me sin da piccola. Nel 2016 la incotrai nei Quarti di Finale del Mondiale a Frameries in Belgio. Ero molto emozionata prima della partita perche' il mio ultimo incontro con lei lo avevo perso 3-0 o 4-0 ma in quell'occasione ero molto concentrata e vinsi 1-0! Questo fu il mio torneo migliore fino ad ora perche' arrivai seconda al Mondiale!Sfortunatamente arrivai alla finale stremata dalle partite precedenti.

What do you want to achieve in Subbuteo?
My biggest wish is to become world champion in the women's category! It would be even better with our German women's team.

Il mio piu' grande desiderio e' quello di diventare Campione del Mondo Donne! Sarebbe ancora piu' bello se lo diventassimo insieme con la Squadra Tedesca Donne!
