Uefa Nations League: Italy finally made it! First victory for the new Mancini Era !

It was about time ! Finally the Italian supporters have something to cheer for. A small 0-1 victory away against Poland that pushes away a lot of critics and the fear of getting relegated in the competition, at least for now. Besides the 3 points there are other good reasons to be positive. Szczesny was definitely the best man on the pitch which means the Italians did attack for the whole match even if it seemed impossible to break through at least until the 90'+2' when Biraghi solved a corner kick situation pushing the ball in with dramatic style and dedicating the goal and win to Davide Astori. Touching as always. We must also say that Donnarumma on the other hands didn't look sharp at all despite few good saves but more than for his skills WE think it was more a mistakes of the lack of precision by Lewandowski and Milik. Strange to see an Italy without a proper stiker/poacher. Insigne, Bernardeschi and Chiesa looked good until the finishing point where they squandered a lot of chances also thanks to the opponent's keeper. Lorenzo il Magnifico even got a bar so the luck didn't help much as well but in the end the Italians got the full prize and at this stage that is more than enough and maybe unexpected for many. WE did believe this time they could make it anyway. Good phases of game for midfield and attack but still there are plenty of problems in the defensive line. Poland missed couple of incredible chances and with other opponents you cannot concede that kind of chances. Bonucci and Chiellini are definitely getting old and some chances must be done to fresh players hopefully in the near future. Barella was also on the pitch doing his part . Debut for Cristiano Piccini as well actually playing for Valencia in the Liga. Well done Mancio!
