The chase for the Euro 2020 qualification is started and Italy got in with the right foot.A convincing 2-0 victory against Finland that feels very good especially because of the involvement of so many young players and new comers like Piccini on the right wing back, Barella on the advanced midfield and Moises Kean on the very offensive right flank. Barella and Kean put their mark on the match. Particularly the Bianconero is the second youngest player (19 years old and 3 days) in the Italy National Team to score a goal getting over Gianni Rivera who scored at the age of 19 and 106 days. The 1st youngest player was Bruno Nicole' who scored at age of 18!
Getting back on the match, the first half wasn't amazing even if Italy got an early lead thanks to a great shot by Barella,first goal wearing the Italian shirt and first player born in Cagliari to score for the Italy. Finland didn't do much at all but Bernardeschi and Kean weren't very precise. The opponent were very closed using 5 defenders but in the second half Italy looked better in the offensive area but still they conceded few very important occasions missed by Pukki, Hamalainen and Sparv. The Moises Kean goal was perfectly assisted by the architect Ciro Immobile who decided to take charge of the pitch dribbling defenders and serving a great low pass to Kean who beat the Hradecky on his coming out. Another great emotion was seeing Fabio Quagliarella getting into the pitch and he touched the ball twice and in both occasions was almost scoring only stopped by a miracle by the keeper and by the bar. Great striker. Nice touches by Verratti and too many mistakes by Jorginho. Zaniolo made his debut too even if he didn't have much time to show his talent. There will be better occasions soon probably already in the next match against Liechtenstein !
