Actually Subbuteo:"10 For You with Maurizio Marzo!

Hello Subbuteo lovers. The Italians keep dominating the scene of Subbuteo so we gonna introduce you another one:

Maurizio Marzo, smiley guy!

1)Chi Sei, cosa fai e perche' la tua vita e' correlata al Subbuteo ?

Sono Maurizio Marzo, Funzionario pubblico 58enne, uno dei più anziani in circolazione nel mondo del subbuteo, che è una fetta abbondante della mia vita....mi ridà energia.

1)Who are you, what do you do, where are you from and how's your life related to Subbuteo?

Im Maurizio Marzo, 58 years old Official, one of the oldest people around the Subbuteo world which is a big part of my life. It give me back energy!

2)Qual e' il tuo primo ricordo del Subbuteo ? (La tua prima volta)

1970 a Natale trovai sotto l'albero questo gioco meraviglioso. giocavo da solo o con un cugino: sfide pazzesche. i moulded della confezione, solo due squadre, poi a volte un regalo di papà e a volte qualche squadra rimediata che poi dipingevo.....a 12/13 anni...la malattia iniziò allora!!

2)What's your first memory about Subbuteo ? (your first time)

Christams 1970 I found this amazing game under the tree! I used to play by myself or with my cousin: fantastic matches! Teams were moulded, only two teams but sometimes my father gave me some teams as a gift. Sometimes I got other teams and I painted them at about 12/13 years old! My "Illness" started back then!

3)Da quanto tempo dipingi squadre Subbuteo? 

Dipingevo fino 35 anni fa, poi ho smesso del tutto e son tornato a dipingere nel 2014, per caso, coinvolto da un amico compagno di sfide subbuteose. ho ripreso per scherzo e adesso invece le mie squadre sono in giro per l'Italia.

3)When did you start making Subbuteo teams ?

I used to paint till 35 years ago then I stopped and I got back at it in 2014 accidentally involved by a Subbuteo friend. I started again like a joke and now many of my teams are around Italy.

4)Hai mai partecipato ad eventi Subbuteo ? Se si quali ? Hai mai vinto qualche competizione di Subbuteo ? se SI Quale ? 

gioco in qualche torneo OLD , ma sono pronto a provare anche il CDT. ho vinto il torneo di Pesaro nel 2016,  il torneo di Ancona nel 2018 e ancora il primo torneo del mio club MAP Colombarone (Pesaro)....ma io adoro giocare, non mi importa se vinco o perdo, gioco con gli schemi del grande Milan di Sacchi e Capello.

4)Did you ever take part in Subbuteo Events? If YES,Which ones? Have you ever won any competition?If YES,which one?

I take part in some Old Subbuteo tournaments but I feel I am also ready to try the Table Soccer (CDT). I have won a tournament in Pesaro in 2016, another one in Ancona in 2018 and also the first tournament of my club MAP Colombarone in Pesaro. But I adore to play and I m not interested in winning or losing. I play using the tactical schemes used by the great Sacchi and Capello at Milan.

5)Sei anche un collezionista ed un giocatore oltre che un Artista Subbuteo ?

non colleziono, anzi se capita nei miei acquisti qualche rarità, la rivendo. per me gli omini finiscono in chanteclair a decolorare, per poi diventare qualsos'altro.

5)Are you also a Subbuteo Collector and/or a player?

I don't collect and actually if I happen to have some rare teams I just sell it. To me, players just go into the oven cleaner so they can become something else later on!

6)Qual e' la tua squadra preferita ?Qual e' secondo te la squadra piu' rara (se collezioni) ?

il amo il Brindisi  e il Milan...le squadre delle città di nascita e di adozione . la Sambenedettese è la più rara e costosa. ne ho avuta una e l'ho venduta....chi ha comprato quasi piangeva!!

6)What's your favourite team ? Which one is the rarest one -if you collect?

I love Brindisi and Milan, teams from the places I was born and adopted! I think Sambenedettese is the rarest and most expensive one. I had one but I sold it! The person who bought it was almost crying!

7)Aspetti positivi e negativi dell'Universo Subbuteo?

aspetti positivi: amicizie nuove, lealtà in campo, un hobby favoloso, un modo di socializzare. negativi: la gente si fa la guerra tra OLD e CDT...senza pensare che è un gioco meraviglioso e basta.....giocherei anche con i tappi delle bottiglie...da bambino giocavo con le pedine della dama su una cassapanca antica di mia nonna, con il campo disegnato col gesso...altri tempi...poi il subbuteo e le sue meraviglie....grazie Peter Adolph.

7)Positive and negative aspects of the Subbuteo Universe?

Positive: new friends,loyalty on the pitch,a great hobby and a way to socialise. Negative: people that keep fighting between Old Subbuteo and CDT(Table Soccer) without thinking that this is just an amazing game! I would play it even using bottle's caps. I used to play it using checkers pawns over an old chest at my grandma's place. The pitch was drawn by chalk! Other times then the Subbuteo arrived .. thanks Peter Adolph.

8)Cosa ne pensi dei vari circuiti ed associazioni come FISCT,WASPA e Lega Nazionale Subbuteo?

detto prima, I CIRCUITI VANNO BENE.....ma è tutto di mamma subbuteo, basta farsi le guerre....è da cretini.

8)What do you think about associations like FISCT,WASPA and Lega Nazionale Subbuteo?

As I said before they might be all good just they have to remember that we are all kids of the Mother Subbuteo so they should stop to argue to each other like silly people.

Fino a che età giocherai a subbuteo e dipingerai?

Finchè ne avrò voglia perchè per me è un divertimento. sono stato cantante e dj per 7 anni, poi non mi divertivo più e ho smesso, punto. A 58 anni faccio quel che mi pare, sempre, alla faccia di qualsiasi federazione o fanatismo altrui.

How long are you going to play Subbuteo for?

Until I want to because it's pure joy to me. I have been a singer and dj for 7 years then I didn't like it anymore so I quit and that's it. Having 58 years I always just do whatever I want and I don't have to care of any associations or fanatics around.
