Europa League 2018-2019: Solid Lazio, disaster Milan !

European nights has been rather positive for the Italians even if the Milanesi didn't do well in the last fixture especially Milan. Oh poor Gattuso. He often has to face press and media for poor results recently. Well let's say that supporters and club were expecting much more than a 1-2 loss at home against Betis but the result was kind of deserved. The Spanish played better and Milan made too many mistakes in front of goals. Only positive note as always was the baby Cutrone, always in goal when he's in but need more continuity. El Pipita missed chances and was very nervous too and Reina has faults on the goals as well. Gattuso's team is losing the plot and they must react soon if they don't want the club to take drastic decisions. Antonio Sanabria gave the lead to Betis at 30' taking advantage of a very bad Reina's timing on attempting the intervention on the opponent's cross leaving the job easy to Betis (30'). The 0-2 was a stunning long range shot by Giovani Lo Celso at 55' and even in this occasion there's a sense that maybe a goalkeeper with more minutes on the pitch could have done better even in this occasion. Only Cutrone tried to bring the Milan back scoring at 83' and the Castillejo's post a while before that could have helped but time was gone and another heavy defeat arrived in Milan. Olympiacos made a 0-2 win against Dudelange. 


 Different story for Lazio. We really didn't understand why media pumped this match so much like they did just because of Strootman and Bianchi against Lazio. Bah rather senseless with all the teams that manager and players change these days it should be a big deal every week. Looked like Marseille felt the pressure much more and indeed Lazio had a very solid match and despite they risked a bit in some phases you could tell they were going to win the match. Nice header by Wallace gave the 0-1 lead at 10' followed by many mistakes in the last 16 meters by Lazio and a post taken by the unfortunate Ciro Immobile. The Lazio's bomber got a little revenge from that giving to Caicedo the perfect assist at 59' for the 0-2. Only a great set piece by Dimitri Payet (86') gave some hopes to Marseille which got killed by another fantastic goal by Marusic at 90', Del Piero style. We can just applause Simone Inzaghi and his team for a convincing 1-3 win away and more security for their Europa League path. Eintracht beated 2-0 the Apollon Limassol.
