Maurito Icardi celebrated by his team mates (Picture taken from SempreInter.com) |
The other Italians involved in the CL, Inter and Roma had definitely much harder matches compared to their league mates! Inter travelled to Holland to face the PSV Eindhoven while Napoli was facing Liverpool at home and luckily the nightmare of the 5-0 loss during the Summer Friendly was long gone.
Inter had a solid match but the situation got complicated when the PSV got the lead with a powerful strike by Pablo Rosario at 27'. As always Handanovic showed a huge lack of skills when it comes to long distange shot.He just doesn't even try it.Never. Luckily for the Nerazzurri the equaliser arrived before the 45 minutes whistle thanks to a angry shot by Radja Nainggolan at 44' after several attempts on goal by Mauro Icardi. The Captain eventually found the 1-2 winning goal at 60' anticipating goalkeeper and defender and putting the ball in making it look so easily like only him can do. PSV has been also a bit unlucky (they also got a post) and found a superb Handanovic on the way. 3 fantastic points for Spalletti also considering the 2-4 loss of Tottenham against Barcelona.Great chances of making it through for Inter!
Let's get the San Paolo Stadium match. Napoli looked like totally nailed the formation and a big thanks should go to Ancelotti about this who is using the whole team giving time to everyone and keeping them motivated and fresh. That is the huge difference between him and the great Maurizio Sarri. A well deserved 1-0 for the Partenopei that faced a Liverpool went to Napoli to get one point and this isn't really something Klopp would usually do. Probably this Napoli was too good for them and the result could have been much greater if the home team didn't squandered a lot of chances plus the classic unlucky touch of the bar. Overall a very great performance which can start making all the supporters dreaming of a new great season even in Europe this time! Congratulations to the REAL MATCH WINNER LORENZO IL MAGNIFICO INSIGNE who scored a dramatic goal at 89',NAPOLETANO DOC.
