Only Lazio got already stopped in its EL path but we kinda knew it already. Lazio simply doesn't have enough men to completely focus on more competitions and they are still on in the Italian Cup too so you could tell something was missing from these players. On the other hands Sevilla was once again pretty solid and clinical, scoring one goal for each time and bringing home the qualification comfortably. The did risk something when they were left in 10 men for the Franco Velazquez's red card at 60' while they were leading 1-0 but the Biancocelesti simply couldn't dominate even with a man up. Bad season for Simone in Europe but they are still up for something in the Italian competitions.
We can generally say that Napoli,Chelsea,Arsenal and Inter were strolling on their fields. Despite the first leg loss for 2-1 suffered by Arsenal it was pretty clear that the away goal was enough to be quiet for the second leg. The Gunners were also lucky to get an early lead thanks to an own goal, the rest was just cruising to the next round. Just like Inter that exaggerated winning 4-0 against a powerless Rapid Wien and finding finally again a delicious lob goal by Perisic and even Ranocchia put his mark on the match. Icardi and Wanda kept watching from the stands. Some positive time for Sarri who is seriously risking his place on the Blues bench because of the recent poor performances of the club. The Carabao Cup final will probably be the last chance he got. Rumors wants him on the Roma's bench next season - we LOVE this idea actually. A clear 3-0 that put them quietly in the Round of 16.
Good news for Napoli too which found goals by Verdi and Ounas that definitely made the best out of the chance that Ancelotti gave them!
We'll have definitely harder matched ahead to comment on. A very pleasant time in Europa League this fixture!
