Premier League Week 29th: Title is gone, 2nd place race is still tight!

While the title is completely in the hands of Manchester City there are still plenty of battles for the rest of the teams. Burnley was going through a bad form period that finally ended yesterday with their 2-1 win against Everton which despite got the lead with Cenk Tosun (20') still didn't deserve to get out of this match with 3 points. Indeed in the second half Ashley Barnes(56') and Chris Wood(80') brought the 3 points in.

A late drama rescue shot from Mahrez at 90'+7' directly from free kick hopefully will bring in some new energy to the Foxes which were almost about to lose the home clash against Bournemouth which was leading for 0-1 thanks to a Joshua King's penalty kick at 35' till that dramatic set piece. Leicester City probably deserved even more than that but at this point a draw can be seen not that bad. Puel will have to put more wood on this fire.

What a beautiful surprise to see the Swansea City out of the relegation zone and especially thanks to their courage they put in every match. The 4-1 against West Ham United was totally the proof of that. The Hammers never had a chance. Ki Sung-yueng (8') and Mike van der Hoorn (32') already killed the match in the first half. The second one was no different. After few minutes again the West Ham defensive pack wasn't amazing and conceded another goal to Andy King (48') and a penalty kick scored by Jordan Ayew at 63'. Useless the Michail Antonio's goal(78').

With a great Champions League's match against Juventus coming up you could think that Tottenham would have done a big turn-over to rest some key players but not. Pochettino put in a great team that made a clear 2-0 against Huddersfield Town. The South Korean Son-Heung Min two goals(27',54') made it possible. This player is growing up match by match. The Spurs dominated most of the match without conceding much to the opponents and actually they should have scored more goals.

A goal by Troy Deeney at 77' was enough to get 3 points for Watford against W.B.A.

Liverpool is doing amazing especially thanks to the perfect Klopp's design which is recently paying off after a strange first half of the season. Now the Liverpool is becoming a powerful and perfectly functioning machine and let's not forget that they are the team which beat the Manchester City as well. The usual Mohamed Salah and Mane' made the 2-0 against Newcastle. Fantastic was the save by Loris Karius on the Mohamed Diame' shot that could have given the equalizer to Rafa Benitez's team. Newcastle is still in a very dangerous position and will probably have to fight till the end in order to avoid relegation. Disappointed season for the supporters probably.

Just to make things even clearer Manchester City beat 1-0 Chelsea thanks to Bernardo Silva during a very defensive game by the Antonio Conte's Team. WE must say that the coach knew of the Davide Astori's death before the match and was rather shocked by the news just like US still now. While it's a very dark moment for Arsenal which lost 4 of the last 5 matches in the PL!! Hard time for Wenger after the 2-1 loss against Brighton. Lewis Dunk(7') and Glenn Murray(26') kinda closed the match in the first 30 minutes of the match with Gunners in total Chaos that only tried to get back into the match thanks to Aubameyang at(43') but that was it.

Manchester United sort of ruined the Liverpool's fans mood just a little beating 2-3 the Crystal Palace. Decisive goal was scored at 90'+1' by Namanja Matic! WE must say that the Roy Hodgson team weirdly got a 2-0 lead with Andrew Townsend(11') and Patrick van Aanholt(48') but in both occasion the defensive line of Mou wasn't exactly perfect and that shouldn't happen at high levels. An header by Chris Smalling at 55' and the classic penalty box thief Romelu Lukaky at 76' did the rest.
