Iago Aspas |
Spain Vs Morocco started in a very surprising way with Morocco focused on not making it easy at all to Spain despite they were already out. Indeed guess who got the lead!? Morocco scoring with Khalid Boutaib at 14'. De Gea didn't seem sure once again. Not a great World Cup so far for the goalkeeper considered the best of the world at the moment. WE must say that at least De Gea did a great save on Boutaib at 25'(they were just face to face). That didn't last long anyway. The 1-1 was scored by Isco after one of the great Spain's coral actions. Spain really pushed a lot and went close to score towards the end of the first half with Diego Costa who only slightly touched the strong pass by Iniesta without putting the ball in for just a little! The second half was rather exciting with a great header by Isco saved right over the line and a stunner shot by Amrabt (incredible shot). At 81' the unexpected lead by Morocco. The header of Youssef En-Nesyri impacted perfectly the cross beating a useless De Gea staring still like a statue. 1-2! At 91' the VAR review gave the goal to Spain. The Iago Aspas back heel at 90'+1' was not offside! dramatic 2-2 final result!!
Iran Vs Portugal was a quite blocked match for most of the time with Portugal dominating in ball possession but not really in quality on the pitch. Iran was always dangerous with their quick counter-attack. Not many chances until the fantastic goal of Quaresma and there's a reason El Trivela indeed he made it using one of his best shoot skills! 0-1 at 45' right before the end of the first half. Not much of Cristiano Ronaldo but he did great movements and couple of shots on target.
The second half showed us something we don't see everyday! The VAR gave a penalty to Portugal and Cristiano Ronaldo missed it at 53'!! Great save by Beiranvand. Ronaldo even got booked after a VAR review for a little push he did to an Iranian player. He risked the red card there. Another Dramatic final here! When Karim Ansarifard scored the penalty given at 90'+3' and a minute after Mehdi Taremi had actually the qualification chance that would have kicked out Portugal but he poorly sent the ball on the external net!!! 1-1 and Portugal keeps going on!
